Magnetic Awning Support — Thule Omnistor & Thule Hideaway
Drop the leg into the nylon foot. The magnetic base anchors it to the side of your van, or to any steel surface. No drilling, no spikes, no guy lines. Mounted in seconds.
Use it for: Anchor the awning legs to the side of the van instead of the ground, on gravel, rock or tarmac where stakes will not go in.
What it fits: Thule Omnistor and Thule Hideaway. One kit = two magnetic feet for both legs. 56 kg vertical and 17 kg lateral pull per magnet, steel panels only.
Shipping: Ships within 48 working hours. Free shipping from CHF150, £150, €250 or $299.
Anchor the awning. Not the ground.
An awning that is not anchored moves. The legs wander. The fabric flexes in the wind. The ground is the usual answer, and it rarely cooperates — gravel, rock and tarmac do not take a stake. So you fix it to the van. Three ways exist. One without a catch.
Ground stakes
Need soft ground. Gravel, rock and tarmac say no. Slow where you actually park.
Drilled bracket
Holes in the panel. Water in. Rust after. Resale value down. Permanent.
Vacuum mount
Re-pump every 2–3 hours. Worse when the panel is hot. The panel is hot when you want shade.
Tactic magnet
56 kg pull per magnet. No holes. No pump. Move the van, it comes with it.
Will it hold on your van?
The rule: the magnet needs steel underneath. Most van side panels are steel. Some are not, and a few vans mix the two — steel body, aluminium doors.

FAQ
Which Thule awnings does this support fit?
Thule Omnistor and Thule Hideaway. The awning leg drops straight into the nylon foot, with nothing to modify on the awning.
Will it hold on my van?
It holds on steel panels, which covers most vans. It does not hold on aluminium. Mount it on a flat, clean area, because curved or ribbed areas, wraps and dirt reduce the hold.
Do I need to drill or use ground stakes?
No. The magnetic base anchors the awning leg to the side of your van, with no drilling, no spikes and no guy lines. It goes on and comes off in seconds.
How strong is the magnet?
Each magnet gives 56 kg of vertical pull and 17 kg of lateral hold on standard steel. The magnets are marine-grade neodymium, fully encapsulated.
What is in the box?
One kit, which is everything you need for one awning: two magnetic feet, each with its nylon support for the awning leg, and stainless steel hardware. When you order one, you receive the full kit of two, not a single foot.
What about shipping and warranty?
Orders leave our Swiss facility within 48 working hours. EU VAT and duties are included. The warranty is 2 years worldwide, and every part is available separately.
